The Willingness to Learn: Practice 5

One essential element of sharing leadership is the willingness to learn, especially from mistakes. Unfortunately, most managerial cultures focus only on eliminating them, which leads us to hide our mistakes, instead of normalizing and learning from them.

"The greatest mistake a man can ever make is to be afraid of making one.”- Elbert Hubbard

In Part 5 of our Summer Practice Series, ensemble member Tristan Toleno shares how we as leaders can shift our mindset on mistakes. Instead of dwelling on our mistakes, we should take them as an opportunity to learn and grow, in order to better ourselves and our team.

Try this out with your team this week, and let us know how it goes! Check out the practices of No Diminishment, Relationship-Building, Appreciation & the 1-3-7 Rule too.
