Hello and Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️

Love is in the air, and today is a great day to exercise an often overlooked workplace value: appreciation.

In a workplace where leadership is shared, everyone is given the opportunity to shine in their own way. We all love to be seen and acknowledged for our hard work. That’s because appreciation triggers the release of dopamine (a.k.a. the “feel good” chemical) in our brains. The more we appreciate, the better we feel. And the better we feel, the more motivated we are to show up and contribute to our teams.

Here are 3 ways you can show appreciation at work this week:

  1. Be Observant. Make it a point to pay attention to the work your colleges are doing.

  2. Be Specific. Take note of your teammates' wins and acknowledge them as soon as you can.

  3. Be Sincere. Say what you mean and mean what you say—appreciation means the most when it comes from a place of authenticity.

It’ll feel great to spread a little love this Valentine’s Day for yourself and the hard working people around you. Try these three tips this week and let us know what you find! You can always write to us here, or on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, & LinkedIn. 🤗
