At The Round Table with Libby Hoffman, Episode 8

The Power of We: Cultivating Our Social Imagination to Heal

“We’re confronted on a daily basis with the brokenness of so many of our systems. And yet I have seen over and over again that there is so much more good available to and for us all than I had even thought to imagine—and that with courage and commitment, we can live into it together.” – Libby Hoffman, President of Catalyst for Peace and author of The Answers Are There: Building Peace from the Inside Out

How do we lead from our humanity, and collective wholeness, even in the midst of suffering and brokenness? What does it take to build peace, learn together and center the power with people?  For over 30 years as an international peacebuilder, Libby Hoffman has lived into the answers through her own powerful journey.

About Libby Hoffman

Libby Hoffman is the President of Catalyst for Peace, a private foundation she established in 2003 to grow a new architecture for peace: one that works from the inside out, where those most impacted by violence and war lead in building peace and restoring social wholeness. She has worked for more than 30 years at the nexus of international peacebuilding, organizational development, spirituality, and social transformation. For the last 15 years, Libby has focused her work in Sierra Leone, as co-founder, funder, and ongoing program partner of Fambul Tok (Family Talk), a community-led post-war reconciliation program rooted in local culture and tradition.

A wise and practical visionary, Libby is also the author of The Answers Are There: Building Peace from the Inside Out, in which she shares stories of individual and communal transformation in Sierra Leone, where the culture of community was nearly destroyed by civil war. Employing a unique approach that anchors reconciliation in indigenous traditions of communal truth-telling, apology, and forgiveness, The Answers Are There shows that ordinary people have the creativity, capacity, and determination to transform their communities according to their own needs and desires.

“I believe we all have the opportunity to be wholeness visionaries: to tune into and work from our deepest knowing and vision of what is possible in the world now. I hope my new book helps you uncover new possibilities for living and working from that place of wholeness.” – Libby Hoffman

We share with Libby the belief that peace is built from the inside out, and that each of us has the capacity to be a peace builder, in our homes, workplaces, communities, networks, and nations. We deeply look forward to discussing practical methods for both personal growth and systemic transformation from a place of wholeness, dignity, and care for ourselves and others. Please join us on LinkedIn for what is sure to be a powerful dialogue steeped in practical wisdom.
